SUMMERVILLE, S.C. -- There’s been some collateral damage in the fight
against Zika -- millions of honeybees in South Carolina.

News outlets report that Dorchester County officials have apologized for
killing the bees when the county failed to notify local beekeepers about
mosquito spraying last weekend.

Four travel-related cases of the Zika virus have been confirmed in the
county northwest of Charleston. Aerial mosquito spraying operations were
conducted Sunday morning.

Flowertown Bee Farm and Supply in Summerville lost more than two million
bees.

Company co-owner Juanita Stanley said the farm “looks like it’s been
nuked.” Andrew Macke, a hobby beekeeper, said he lost thousands of bees.

The county usually notifies beekeepers before it sprays for mosquitoes.
Officials say Sunday was the first time spraying had been done from the
air.

Sounds like someone didn't get the memo about warning the beekeepers. Even
more spraying will be needed after it stops raining and cold weather is
not coming anytime soon. Zika is here to stay!

It may have been stopped early on with traveler quarantine, but it's too
late for that now.

Irresponsible. Very irresponsible. Costly too, in more than just
dollars.

It will be interesting to see how far reaching that becomes next spring -
when farmers crops are not pollinated, lower crop yields, which could lead
to lower supply and higher costs for produce - and potentially so much
more.

Since they pretty much destroyed all the beekeeper's livelihood, the
county will owe them a lot in monetary compensation. Very expensive
mistake for everyone. RIP bees.

Disaster for bees, for crops, for farmers, for consumers, et al.

His Omnipotence Barack Hussein Obama, declared himself "Pooptator" of all
mentally ill homosexuals and crossdressers, while declaring where they
will defecate.

Obama increased total debt from $10 trillion to $19 trillion in the seven
years he has been in office, and sold out heterosexuals for Hollywood
queer liberal democrat donors.

Barack Obama, reelected by the dumbest voters in the history of the United
States of America. The only American president to deliberately import a
lethal infectious disease from Africa, Ebola.

Loretta Fuddy, killed after she "verified" Obama's phony birth
certificate.

Obama ignored the brutal killing of an American diplomat in Benghazi, then
relieved American military officers who attempted to prevent said murder
in order to cover up his own ineptitude.

Obama continues his muslim goal of disarming America while ObamaCare
increases insurance premiums 300% and leaves millions without health care.

It seems they sprayed Naled. This insecticide kills
winged insects. That would include bees.

Naled is toxic to humans too.

Nice job Dorchester County.

Nice job Dorchester County.
But they 'apologized'. So it's cool.

Not just South Carolina. It seems the "Better living
through toxins", motto is applied widely.

Spraying a neurotoxin from the air to kill everything in
its path - What a brilliant idea.
